Over 332 players are set to go under the hammer for the IPL auctions on December 19. The event will take place at Kolkata and franchises will be looking forward to grabbing the best buys.

A lot of trades took place in the previous months, with the hope to add stability for their respective teams.

A recent report from ESPNCricinfo stated that Out of 971 players only 332 have been shortlisted. However, only 73 spots are remaining among all the eight franchises.

The list also included 24 players whose names weren”t a part of the previous list. Kesrick Williams, Adam Zampa and Dan Christian.

IPL Auction 2020: Notable misses

A lot of star players will not be a part of this IPL edition including the likes of Mitchell Starc and Joe Root. While the former hasn”t been a part of IPL for some time now, the latter hasn”t decided to give a go this time.

It is to be noted that Root went unsold in the IPL auctions 2019. Franchises weren”t interested to rope him as a part of the side. Root later expressed his disappointment regarding the same, stating he primarily wanted to gain experience but things didn”t turn in his favor.

However, the likes of Maxwell, Morgan, and Cummins are expected to take the center stage in this auctions.

We need to wait a week more to check how the final squads look like.
