The stylish left-handed batsman made his first-class debut for Delhi in October 2015. During 2016/17 Ranji Trophy season, Pant hit 308 against Maharashtra and became the 4th overall player to score a triple century in first-class cricket. He has played 21 First Class matches, 25 List A matches and 55 T20s.

Pant made his international debut for India against England on 1st February 2017 and got to bat just 3 balls scoring 5 runs. He has played 4 T20I matches for team India. In 2018 Nidahas Tri series involving Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, Pant could not perform according to expectations.

Last year he was named in India senior squad to West Indies did not get find a place in the playing XI throughout the 5 match ODI series and 1 T20I match.

He was retained by Delhi Daredevils this season. He made 684 runs from 14 matches, finished the IPL 2018 edition as 2nd leading runs scorer. He hit 8 half centuries and 1 century to his name with the best score of 128*.  His strike rate in the tournament was 173.60.

His batting strength though did not help Delhi Daredevils to reach the playoff stage; he will be looking forward to an excellent ODI tri-series to move into the senior team.
