After Sachin & Dhoni another Indian cricketer”s biopic to be made

After a massive success of Dhoni and Sachin’s biopic, now the life of the leading wicket-taker in the world, Jhulan Goswami”s life will be portrayed on silver screen. ‘Chakdaha Express’ will be the title of the film as per reports.

The biographical film will depict the journey of a small girl traveling from Chakdaha, a small city of Nadia district in West Bengal to Kolkata on a daily basis to attend her practice sessions to the Lords Cricket Ground where the women’s team missed out on the World Cup by a whisker earlier this year.

The announcement was made in the presence of Jhulan at a sports museum in Kolkata, yesterday. A deal has been signed by the Dunamis Sportainment who now managed the fast bowler.

The director of the film Susanta Das said that they will start working on the script very soon and shooting will begin in April next year. The film will be made in Hindi for attaining a larger crowd.

Susanta, who earlier directed a Bengali movie “Asche Bochor Abar Hobe”, told PTI at Fanatic Sports Museum in New Town today that, “Shooting will be held from Chakdaha to Lord”s.”

“I cannot tell you the names as they are yet to be signed. But we are in talks with leading Bollywood actresses,” he said on asking who will enact the role of the 34-year old pacer. He further confirmed that a decision will be made by the end of October.

The director has very high hopes on his new venture as this is the first biopic ever to depict a life a woman cricketer. He wishes to inspire the young Indian girls to take up cricket as a profession.

“We will send our crew to wherever Jhulan has played. The focus will be her journey, the odds she overcame since she was 10. Hope it will inspire and motivate millions of youngsters. It”s about chasing your dream,” he signed off.
