Arjun Tendulkar, son of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar gets a call up from the Mumbai u-19 squad which will take part in the JY Lele All India Under-19 Invitational One Day Tournament which will be played in Baroda. The tournament is scheduled to take place from September 16 to September 23. Earlier, he has been a part of the u-14 and u-16 sides.

The left-arm pace bowler is often seen at the England Cricket team’s net sessions; recently he was bowling before the South Africa series. He came into news after bowling a toe-crushing yorker to England’s wicket-keeper batsman Jonny Bairstow which left him hobbling.

The 17-year-old cricketer from Mumbai is a part of the Lord’s Cricket Ground and gets the opportunity to bowl at international players.  He was also seen bowling at the nets of the Indian Women’s team before the World Cup final against England. Recently he was seen chatting with England batsman Alastair Cook, and receiving bowling tips from former England bowling coach Ottis Gibson.

Former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram also praised the young bowler when he met during the IPL a few years ago. In an interview with NDTV, Akram said, “He is as enthusiastic as any 15 years old passionate about cricket in India and Pakistan would be. I gave him some general tips about fitness and wrist position. I told him how to bring the ball back into the right-hander. I told him to practice it for three months and then I promised him to teach how to take the ball away from right-handers.”
