As we inch close to the final of the inaugural edition of the Cricfit Premier League (CPL). the games are getting a lot tighter and exciting. Cricfit Academy produced an all-round effort to go past KRP Cricket Academy by nine wickets in a U-16 game at the Thakur Village Cricket Stadium in Kandivali East.

KRP Cricket Academy made a steady start after asked to bat first. Pratik Luharuka and Rishabh Thakur took a cautious approach seeing off the new ball. They managed only 34 runs at the end of six overs before Hammad Karim struck twice in consecutive deliveries to remove both the openers. With 34 for no loss to 35 for two, KRP Cricket Academy were under immense pressure.

Cricfit Academy continued to apply pressure as the batters failed to get going and thus, surrendered their wicket. Hammad struck once in the ninth over to dismiss Ansh Jadhav and since then, it was all way traffic in favour of Cricfit. KPR Cricket Academy batsman Ans Anghan scored valuable 21 runs in the death to guide his side to 116 runs at the end of 20 overs.

It was all easy for Cricfit Academy in the run chase. Packed by in-form batters, they never really looked in trouble during the run chase. Despite losing Devansh Shah in the fourth over of the innings, Auwab Kunni and Hamza Khan showed great composure and determination to take their side home.

Kunni, in particular, has been in spectacular form throughout CPL 2021. He once backed his brilliant form with an unbeaten half-century while Hamza played the second fiddle with a 30-run contribution. Cricfit Academy edged past the target in just 13.4 overs with nine wickets in hand.
