Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni reassured that he will be back for his side in the next IPL season at the toss in Abu Dhabi. CSK are playing against Kings XI Punjab in their last league game at the venue. The Men in Yellow have already been knocked out from this IPL season.

They are playing the last game to end their campaign with a win. Meanwhile, Dhoni won the toss and opted to bowl first at Abu Dhabi. CSK beat RCB and KKR in their previous two games. In the process, they have made it difficult for both towards their aim of making it to the playoffs.

Definitely Not – MS Dhoni on whether this is his last game for CSK

CSK have had the worst IPL season in the history of the tournament. They lost eight games and won just five. Also, this is the first time, that CSK will not make the qualifiers of the tournament. Speaking at the toss, MS Dhoni confirmed that he will come back to lead CSK in IPL 2021.

The CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanathan earlier said that MS Dhoni will be leading CSK in the next IPL season.

“We will bowl first. Definitely not (when asked if it was his last game ever for CSK). They are under more pressure to win, we just want to turn up and keep fighting. I felt the boys did well to stay relevant, we want to put 100% into our game. We have a few changes. Faf, Tahir and Shardul in; they replace Watson, Santner and Karn” said MS Dhoni at the toss.

There have been a few landmarks that Dhoni breached this season. he became the first player to play 200 IPL games. He also got to 200 IPL sixes as well. Meanwhile, former Indian skipper, Ravi Shastri said that MS Dhoni’s shoes are big ones to fill for the Indian team in the future.

“Those are massive boots to fill. With the track record, he (Dhoni) has, he has gone down in history as one of our greatest cricketers. Not just as a keeper and a batsman but his record as captain. To find a replacement for him is like once Kapil Dev finished can we get a Kapil Dev? Till today, we haven’t found another Kapil Dev,” Ravi Shastri told Times Now.
