New Zealand won the test match series 1-0 against the English thus winning a series against them after a gap of 19 years.

Thanks to a great stand from Ish Sodhi and Neil Wagner who battled the entire day to save the match and making NZ triumph. Tim Southee was awarded the MOM for his all-round performances while his mate Trent Boult has been awarded the Man of the series award.

Meanwhile, English bowler James Anderson added a unique feather to his cap. He is now the pacer to bowl the maximum deliveries in the longest format of the game. He surpassed Courtney Walsh”s total deliveries of 30,020.

The 35-year-old right arm fast bowler has now bowled 30,074 matches by the end of the NZ series. He has represented England in 136 tests and picked over 531 scalps, being the first one from England to do so. He is now the second-ranked test bowler and will look to achieve best ratings in near future.

Other pacers who are behind Anderson include:

Courtney Walsh- 30,019 deliveries

Glenn McGrath- 29,248 deliveries

Kapil Dev- 27,740 deliveries

Spinning legends Muralitharan, Kumble, and Warne continue to remain on the top of the table for the most deliveries bowled by the bowlers (spin and pace) and Anderson will be happy to join the fourth position.

This record marks him as the “most-overworked” pacer in the test history.
