Nitish Rana has been one of the best things IPL have given us since the last edition. His ability to chase targets and playing at his “brutal best” when the team needed are few of his unique abilities to speak about.

In a recently released video from the Kolkata franchise, Rana”s childhood coach Sanjay Bharadwaj spoke about his elegance and his sense of calmness on the field.

He mentioned that Nitish would come in white tracks and would try to challenge any bowler from the opposition. He also said that Nitish had the ability to win the game single-handedly for his team and he has seen it in him. “Though he takes, 8-10 balls to adapt to the situations, he is the best-attacking batsman after that”, he said.

It is to be noted that Nitish Rana played for Mumbai Indians in his debut season (2017) and his vital contributions at No:3 played an integral part in their success. He had hit 437 runs for MI last year and was in contention for the Emerging player award which was later bagged by Basil Thampi.

In the video, Rana said that the 2016 IPL made him develop his self-confidence and self-belief. The game against Gujarat Lions made him attain that particular quality and he said he never compromised anything for the game. (He hit 53 of 36 balls and was adjudged Man of the match)

Anil Rana, his uncle said that his style and aggression resembled Sourav Ganguly but mostly Gautam Gambhir. He played along with Gambhir and that groomed him to get the best out of him.

Rana is currently playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in this edition and bagged the Man of the match award twice. He also provided vital breakthroughs with the ball whenever the team needed. It will be interesting to see if he can put KKR at the top before the playoffs.

We wish Nitish Rana, a very best for his future endeavors and a very fruitful IPL season ahead.
