Prithvi Shaw, the youngster who rose to prominence after the Indian Under-19 team”s victory in the World cup announced his arrival into the Indian Premier League.

The hard-hitting opener scored his first half-century in his second game. Shaw smashed 62 runs off 44 deliveries that included 7 boundaries and two sixes.

Shaw looked in a good touch in his debut match but wasn”t able to capitalize on the start. This knock will bring him a lot of confidence in the shortest format of the game. Shaw had no mercy over Kolkata bowlers as he even took Mitchell Johnson for several boundaries in his spell.

The Delhi team”s dugout was all smiles after the youngster scored his maiden half-century.He also shares the record for the youngest player to score the half-century in IPL alongside Sanju Samson.

Shreyas Iyer, on his first assignment as a captain, came out all guns blazing against the Kolkata bowlers as he scored a scintillating 93* off 40 deliveries including 10 huge sixes.

This inning has taken Delhi to a score of 219/4 and it will be interesting to see how Kolkata openers will have a reply. Twitter went crazy after these innings as the youngsters from Delhi Squad impressed not only the fans but also the legends.
