RCB had bought Nathan Coulter Nile in the auctions held at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore in the month of January.

The Australian limited over specialist will not be available due to an injury and is expected to take rest for a longer period of time.

The IPL technical committee confirmed the news that Corey Anderson will replace NCN for this season. RCB will be the third team for Anderson in the cash-rich league. The NZ all-rounder represented MI and DD in the past.

The IPL technical committee allowed RCB to pick a player from the available pool of unsold players and Anderson was chosen for his base price of 2 crores. The NZ all-rounder is the second fastest centurion in the ODI history amassing off just 36 deliveries in 2014.

RCB coach Daniel Vettori mentioned in a press release, “Nathan Coulter-Nile is still recovering from a sustained injury and has been prescribed ample rest. He is a player of tremendous talent and owing to his treatment, however, he won”t be able to play during IPL season 11. His absence will be felt greatly both in the team and on the ground. Team RCB wishes Nathan a heartfelt speedy recovery and an early comeback.Replacing him in the squad is the explosive Kiwi all-rounder Corey Anderson. Corey plays a bold game and has incredible potential. We all welcome him to the RCB squad”.

The RCB camp will now have four kiwi players Brendon Mccullum, Tim Southee, Collin de Grandhomme, and Anderson.

RCB have a very good batting order that includes the likes of many Indian players like Manan Vohra, Mandeep Singh, Parthiv Patel and Sarfaraz Khan. It will be interesting to see who will open the innings as Kohli has many options for the same.

RCB will start their campaign with an away game against KKR on April 8.

They will play their first home game on April 13 against KXIP.
