Chennai Super Kings once again exhibited their class by winning Sunrisers Hyderabad at Pune. Rayudu smashed his maiden century and played a vital role in finishing the innings with an over to spare.
Chasing 180, Chennai openers Watson and Rayudu started hitting right from the beginning and the Sunrisers had no clue to restrict the run flow. Watto scored his second half-century of the season before getting dismissed in a runout. His innings of 57 acted as the foundation for the team to win comfortably.
The openers put up a partnership for 134 runs and this shows the level of consistency between them this season. Dhoni and Rayudu completed the honours as Chennai remain in the second spot and made it to the playoffs for the record ninth time.
Ambati Rayudu”s innings was the talk of the town as his unbeaten knock primarily paved the way to finish the things with ease. The 32-year-old hit 7 fours and 7 sixes in his knock in just 62 deliveries.
It is to be noted that Rayudu has been named in the Indian ODI squad for the England tour and this innings will really boost his confidence to come better in overseas conditions.
Rayudu now scored over 535 runs this season and is really a strong contender for the orange cap.
