Khawaja, Bailey join RPS; Amla set for IPL debut: With crippling injuries putting teams in crisis, rejected players from the IPL auction are now being called upon to serve as band-aid. Rising Pune Supergiants have got a much-needed drift with the joining of Aussie duo – Usman Khawaja and George Bailey in the squad. Dealing with injuries to key players – Faf Du Plessis, Kevin Pietersen, Mitchell Marsh and Steve Smith, the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side has managed to win only two of its eight games so far and they are third at the table from bottom. The replacement players will lend much-needed stability to the side.

Both Usman Khawaja and George Bailey were seen practicing with the team at the Feroz Shah Kotla, where the Supergiants will be playing against Delhi Daredevils. Khawaja has been in superb form throughout the season in both domestic and international circuit with the bat and that reflected in the ICC World T20 2016. The Supergiants are most likely to field both Khawaja and Bailey in the playing XI in their next match against Delhi Daredevils on Thursday night.

Amla”s inclusion in the Kings XI Punjab squad comes only as a replacement for injured Australian southpaw Shaun Marsh, who has been ruled out with a back injury for the rest of this season”s IPL. Amla’s addition will be priceless reinforcement for the struggling Kings XI Punjab side. Kings XI only included 3 overseas players in their last match against KKR, failing to utilize the overseas quota of 4.
