Records are never far away when MS Dhoni steps on the cricket field. Over the years we have seen him accomplish unthinkable heights in IPL. The latest season of IPL in UAE marked his return to competitive cricket. Also, Dhoni has now equalled a special milestone of his CSK teammate Suresh Raina.

Chennai skipper today against the Delhi Capitals is playing in his 193rd IPL match. Dhoni has equalled Raina and has become the most capped player in IPL history. Raina, who is not currently playing in IPL 2020 has also starred in 193 IPL games.

With Raina missing out this season, Dhoni will now soon become the first player to play 200 matches in the biggest T20 league in the world. Dhoni in his IPL career has played for the Chennai Super Kings and the Rising Pune Supergiant.

He was part of the Supergiant during the 2016 and 2017 edition of the IPL. The Chennai Super Kings were suspended by the IPL governing council for their alleged involvement in match-fixing.

Meanwhile, Dhoni has led his beloved CSK franchise two-three IPL titles so far. Under Dhoni, CSK lifted the IPL crown in 2010, 2011 and 2018 respectively. He has also taken them to the most playoffs in IPL history.

Moreover, Dhoni has remained one of the great batsmen in the Indian Premier League. The CSK skipper before his innings today has accumulated 4461 runs at a strike rate of 137.4.

Furthermore, Dhoni has been one of the legends of IPL and fittingly in the next match, he will become the most capped player in the league’s history. In 2008, CSK roped in Dhoni as their icon player and since then has created an unforgettable bond with the franchise.
