Rahul Dravid who coaches the India A and Under 19 teams wanted clarity on issues of conflict interest from BCCI.

He also mentored the Delhi Daredevils team in the last few seasons where under his guidance young Indian players have performed well.

“Yes, I have written to the CoA explaining my position and explaining the background against which this perceived conflict of interest has happened,” Rahul Dravid told ESPNcricinfo. “By the BCCI”s conflict of interest rules, I was absolutely not under a conflict of interest. If the rules have changed midway through the contract, then I think it is unfair to criticise me for breaking the rules or twisting the rules to suit my convenience.

“My simple point is that, not only me but there are five or six of us who are in the same position. There needs to be clarity. If there is clarity, we will be in a position to take an informed decision. It is disappointing the way this got played out in the public without much understanding of the background.”

According to Ricky Pointing, he wanted him to become the coach of the Indian team. Anil Kumble is currently the coach of the Indian team since the last 1 year. Under Rahul Dravid coaching, the India Under 19 team reached the finals of World Cup held in Bangladesh 2016 losing to West Indies. Rahul Dravid wanted to clear things that are happening around him to become the coach of Indian senior team.

Rahul Dravid has done great things in junior cricket with likes of Risbabh Pant, Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya, Manish Pandey performing well. The BCCI in its current scenario, the coaches and support staff of Indian Cricket have been given ten months contract till the end of March. In the IPL season they sign deals with franchises. He said that there must be a process to be followed and need to figure what the framework is.

The BCCI will disucss the issue of conflict of interest in meeting on 12th June. The meeting will discuss to increase the contracts of test players and also what should be the contracts in IPL. Rahul Dravid played for Rajasthan Royals in IPL.
