The young leg-spinner from Afghanistan, Rashid Khan has been sensational in Big Bash League 7. He is currently playing for Adelaide Strikers who are at the top of points table with 4 wins and 1 loss.

Rashid Khan has been superb with the ball so far in BBL 7 making his debut against Sydney Thunder on 22nd December. During that match, the Afghanistan spinner picked 2 wickets and gave away just 22 runs. Adelaide Strikers scored 163 for 6 in 20 overs, bowled out Sydney Thunder for 110.

On 28th December against Sydney Sixers, Rashid Khan was the pick of bowlers taking 2 for 22 in 4 overs.Β  In that match, Adelaide Strikers made 167 for 3 in 20 overs. Rashid Khan bowled brilliantly and helped Adelaide win the match by 6 runs.

In the third match against Brisbane Heat on 31st December at Adelaide, Strikers won the match by 56 runs. Adelaide Strikers scored 147 for 7 in 20 overs and bowled out Brisbane Heat for 91 runs. Rashid Khan took 2 for 19 at an economy of 4.75 runs per over.

Rashid Khan continued his brilliant performance in BBL 7 with a brilliant bowling spell against Hobart Hurricanes at Hobart on 4th January. Khan took 2 for 18 as Hobart made 183 for 5 in 20 overs. In reply, Adelaide Strikers fell short of the target by just 7 runs.

In today’s match against Sydney Thunder, Rashid Khan scored 16 runs off 6 balls and picked 2 for 21. Adelaide Strikers won the match by 25 runs.

Rashid Khan was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for 4 crores.He performed brilliantly taking 17 wickets in 14 matches with an economy of 6.62 runs per over. His ability to trouble the batsmen with variations makes him a tough bowler to face.

He took the 4th best figures in ODI cricket by taking 7/18 against West Indies on 9th June at St Lucia. It was best figures by an associate nation bowler. He made his ODI debut for Afghanistan in 2015 against Zimbabwe. Since then he has played 32 One day internationals and taken 70 wickets. Also, he has taken 42 wickets in 27 T20I matches.

Khan has not been retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the retention list. He is a star for Afghanistan cricket and every team would love to have him.

With the upcoming matches in BBL 7, Rashid Khan would play an important role for Strikers and be helping them to win the title.
