Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja suffered an injury scare during the first T20I against Australia at Manuka Oval in Canberra. Virat Kohli & Co has opted for a concussion substitute in the form of Yuzvendra Chahal, who is eligible to bowl all his four overs now.

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja, who played another gem of a knock, copped a blow on his head while batting off Mitchell Starc’s bowling. However, he continued to bat and guide India to a respectable total from a position where they were reeling at 92 for five in 13.5 overs.

He didn’t turn up to field and BCCI issued a statement that Jadeja is currently being monitored by the BCCI’s medical team. Yuzvendra Chahal has come out in place of Ravindra Jadeja as concussion substitute. As per ICC’s ruling, he will now be eligible to bowl his full quota of four overs.

“Ravindra Jadeja was hit on the helmet in the final over of the first innings of the first T20I. Yuzvendra Chahal will take the field in the 2nd innings as a concussion substitute. Jadeja is currently being assessed by the BCCI Medical Team,” BCCI wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Australian head coach Justin Langer was seen fuming while talking to match referee over his decision to allow India a concussion substitute. Reportedly Langer pointed out that Ravindra Jadeja had no signs of concussion when he got hit on the head.

Incidentally, the all-rounder didn’t need any medical assistance and it seemed like Langer pointed out the same saying India was seeking advantage. More so, Jadeja pulled his leg while running in the last over of India’s innings and the Aussie camp pointed out the same.

Speaking of the game, India managed to break the 160 barrier as they got some quick runs thanks to Ravindra Jadeja. A 23-ball 44 has helped India get to a score which they can think of defending. They really threw it away in the middle overs thanks to a few loss of wickets but Jadeja got them some momentum in the last few overs before KL Rahul and Sanju Samson gave the initial impetus.
