Rohit Sharma breaks into top five rankings of latest ICC ODI batsmen

It was good news for Indian cricket fans as Rohit Sharma has entered into the top five rankings of latest ICC ODI batsmen announced today. Apart from that Jasprit Bumrah is only Indian included in 10 top bowlers’ rankings.

Indian captain Virat Kohli who did not play the recently concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka still occupies the top spot. South African AB de Villiers also remains at number 2 position. He too does not have any ODI matches to play this year.

Australia’s aggressive opener David Warner maintains his third place. Pakistan young sensation, Babar Azam remains at number 4.

Rohit Sharma who scored 217 runs in the ODI series against Sri Lanka from 3 matches, has climbed two places up to 5th position. The South African wicketkeeper, Quinton de Kock slips down one place to number 6.

England captain Joe Root slips down one place to number 7th. Faf du Plessis and his teammate Hashim Amla continue to remain at the 8th and 9th position.

New Zealand captain Kane Willamson completes the top 10 batsmen rankings in ODI’s. He has a chance to climb up as Kiwis take on West Indies in 3 match ODI series from 20th December.

In the bowlers ranking, Pakistan Hassan Ali occupies the top spot with good bowling efforts. South Africa leg-spinner, Imran Tahir remains at number 2 position.

India’s Jasprit Bumrah who bowled well in the recently concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka maintains his 3rd position. Australia’s Josh Hazlewood position has not changed. He occupies number 4 place.

South African young bowler Kagiso Rabada remains at number 5. Mitchell Starc continues to be at number 6th place.

Trent Boult also has a chance to go up the rankings as New Zealand face West Indies in 3 matches ODI series starting from 20th December. Afghanistan young teen sensation Rashid Khan has moved one place up to 8th in the rankings.

West Indies, Sunil Narine, and England Liam Plunkett are tied at number 9th with same points.

In the team rankings, South Africa ended the year at top of rankings, followed by India.
