Since retiring from the game as an international cricketer, former India player Sanjay Manjrekar has been very vocal with his views about cricket through various platforms.

Sanjay has always come across honestly and straightforward with his opinions on the game. Through commentary, expert analysis and his articles and now even the book, Sanjay has been a respectable voice to hear.

Sanjay”s forthrightness can be a problem at times, though. Being an expert who likes to keep the emotions aside in his assessments, Sanjay has often come across critical to people about the playing cricketers.

Sanjay”s straight talk and unfeared approach are misunderstood at times. His opinionated and theoretical nature is not limited to just cricket. Sanjay has always stood out as one of the first persons to give his views away about other fields too. Through social media network Twitter, Sanjay has been very articulated about Politics, the country and various other issues concerning the society right now.

On one such occasion recently, Sanjay who is in Srilanka right now working as a commentator for the Nidahas Trophy, tweeted a picture of the beautiful and naturally fulfilling Island nation Srilanka.

But, what got him into trouble was the caption to the image.

He captioned the pic with, “Give Mumbai a nice scrub and you will get Colombo. #AlreadySwachhSriLanka “

Expressing his criticism of the pollution issue surrounding Mumbai city right now. And how it pales in comparison to the neatness & cleanliness of Srilanka as a country with a very low pollution rate. The problem is a massive one around India, though. Sanjay being a mMumbaikarsingled out his home land, the economical hub of the nation.

Sanjay”s caption hasn”t been taken well by the residing public of India and Mumbai especially. People are actually trolling him for it over twitter. Many made their anger clear in the reply section of the tweet by Manjrekar. Asking him what he has actually done to correct the problem. Sanjay made his views very clear again, though.
