Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain David Warner Is Involved In Match-Fixing- TRS MLA’s Absurd Claim

David Warner who leads the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL is involved in match-fixing claims Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA Danam Nagender. The former minister also declared the David Warner should not lead Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. Nagender also maintained that his team will protest against the IPL matches being played in Hyderabad if the franchise doesn’t include more local talent.

Coming back to David Warner he has led Sunrisers Hyderabad to the IPL title in 2016. Since becoming the SRH skipper, Warner has turned the fortunes around of the franchises and made them one of the most consistent sides in the IPL. Hence these allegations by TRS MLA Danam Nagende are shocking, to say the least as Warner always gives an opportunity to talented youngsters in the side.

David Warner Is Involved In Match-Fixing- TRS MLA

Danam Nagende feels that there are many irregularities in the team selection of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Players from Hyderabad are not given chances in IPL and only Mohammed Siraj from the state has been able to play from India in recent times. He also threatened to protest if SRH doesn’t give chances to Hyderabad players who are performing exceedingly well in domestic cricket.

“We will protest against IPL from being conducted in Hyderabad if players from here are not selected. In Hyderabad city there are many deserving players, in previous selections many irregularities took place and we are condemning it. There are players from here who played for Ranji trophy, under 19. There are many deserving players who can play for IPL from here, but only Mohammed Siraj has so far made it”, Nagender told reporters days after the conclusion of the IPL 2021 player auction.

“Hyderabad has got a good name and not taking players from here is condemnable. We feel sad and also condemn Warner being captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad who is involved in match-fixing. If Hyderabad doesn’t have representation (if players from here are not selected) then we will protest against IPL from being conducted in Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi Stadium”, said Nagender.

Meanwhile, it will be intriguing to see if David Warner responds to these claims against him or SRH releases an official statement to defend the skipper of the franchise. Warner has been the talisman of SRH for a good 5 years now in the IPL but never his name any kind of fixing scandal was mentioned before. The Australian is all set to captain SRH again in IPL 2021 which is likely to be played in India between April-May.
