England won the second test against Pakistan and levelled the series 1-1. Jos Buttler played a gem of an innings in scripting the win for the side.
Meanwhile, the English fans couldn’t stop trolling their arch-rivals Australia yet again during the live coverage. It is to be noted that Australian “leadership group” comprising of Warner and Smith were sanctioned a ban for a period of one year for their involvement in the sandpaper gate.
Cameron Bancroft used a tape like substance to collect the granules from the pitch to tamper the condition of the ball at the third test at Newlands, Capetown. In the live coverage, few fans were seen imitating the trio by rubbing the ball with a yellow colour sandpaper. Around five to six fans were spotted in the stands who caught the camera attention and this really is a frustrating one for the Aussie camp.
England will now host Australia for a five-match ODI series starting from June 13. A new look Aussie ODI team is all set to lock horns with the no:1 ranked ODI team under a new coach Justin Langer. It will be really interesting to see how Australian players can keep their cool with these incidents and the voices from the Barmy Army.
Though England lost the Ashes, they comfortably defeated the hosts earlier in January clinching the ODI series 4-1. It will really be a test of patience and character for the Australian side who are going through a lean patch at the moment.
English cricket fans can be BRUTAL and this is just a preview of the sandpapergate taunts the Aussies can expect in the next Ashes series! 🙄
