In an astonishing turn of events, Sri Lanka’s premier fast bowler and one of the world’s most lethal quick bowler Lasith Malinga turned into an off-spin bowler during a domestic knockout game. Imagine Slinga Malinga who bowls at a rapid quick pace from a 20-meter-long runup just bowling a gentle loopy off-spin with taking only a couple steps. Yes, that’s exactly what happened in the 25th Singer MCA ‘A’ division knockout final match between Teejay Lanka and LB Finance in Colombo.
Known for his Toe crushing yorkers, Malinga who was leading his side was forced to bowl spin because of the fading light and conditions which were deemed too dangerous for batsmen facing a fast bowler.
But the most interesting scenario was that not only Malinga bowled his off-spin very well, he bowled it with devastating effects similar to his fast bowling. He singlehandedly managed to get his side across the line by picking up 3 wickets by his clever spin bowling.
His side eventually ended up winning the contest easily by 82 runs (D/L method), but the sight of Malinga bowling off-spin was something else, here is the exclusive video of the legendary fast bowler weaving his magic bowling some mystery spin.
