AB de Villiers announced his retirement from all formats of the game in the evening. He declared this shocking news in his app by means of a video where he mentioned that he is “tired” to be a part of the game going forward.
It is to be noted that ABD is known for his unorthodox shots on the field in the limited overs. He holds the record for the fastest ever century in the ODI in just 31 balls. While certain players hit big only in home conditions, AB made it a habit to score bigger and better irrespective of the conditions. In his ODI tour to India in October 2015, he added three centuries to his tally playing a vital role in the 3-2 series win.
Meanwhile, this is what master blaster Sachin had to say on Mr. 360. Sachin stressed that AB de is one of the most incredible players he had ever seen. “There are many hitters. Maxwell, Miller, Pollard and Gayle. All of them are capable of hitting big shots and finishing the innings. But Why I see AB de Villiers a bit higher than them is because of his ability to clear the field on any type of bowler irrespective of his bowling style (fast bowler/spin/swing),” he added.
Several experts and fans are speechless after this news and they are sharing memorable shots of the legend across the social media. VVS Laxman, Kaif and even the Cricket Australia also tweeted and wished him the best for his future.
AB de Villiers will not only be missed by his fans but the cricket also will miss him.
