The Pakistani fast bowler, Mohammad Amir has once again hit the news during his time with Essex in the NatWest T-20 blast. He got annoyed with his fellow teammate Paul Walter for misjudging a ball in the fifth over the match thus missing a wicket-taking opportunity which eventually proved costly as they lost to Sussex by 55 runs.
The incident took place when Amir was into his second over bowling in the powerplays with Chris Nash on strike. It was full pitched delivery and the batsman flicked the ball moving to his off-stump. A fielder was placed exactly for that shot in the deep square-leg position but Walter misjudged the ball as he lost it in the sun. Nash played a match-winning knock of 73 runs in just 53 balls which included 7 fours and two sixes.
Amir who was furious with the missed opportunity got animated as he signaled Walter to put his sunglasses back to block the sun. Paul Walter had his sunglasses on his cap not using it for the actual purpose.
However, Amir took the wicket of Nash in the 19th over, thus finishing his quota of over’s giving only27 runs.
