Sanju Samson pulled off a magnificent catch in a match against South Africa A played at LC De Villiers Oval, Pretoria. India A registered a win after chasing down a total of 267, Manish Pandey playing the captains knock.
However, Samson stole the show with his outstanding field work. The incident took place on the 25th over of the South African innings when Dwayne Pretorius batting at 17 tried to smack one of Yuzvendra Chahal over the mid wicket only edging it over the point region. Originally a wicket-keeper, Sanju made a herculean effort to leap over his head to clutch on to the ball leaving the batsman in utter shock.
Chasing the total of 267, India were in trouble losing the first two wickets in quick succession, however, Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson made a steady partnership before Pant got out at 20. Then, Manish Pandey and Sanju Samson took India home with two balls to spare both scoring fifties with significant contribution from Chahal and Krunal Pandya.
