Indian skipper Virat Kohli and his teammate Ravichandran Ashwin has been nominated among seven players for the ICC Men’s Player of the Decade Award. The full list of nominations was shared by the world governing body of cricket on their official website.

Apart from these two players names like Joe Root, Joe Root (England), Kane Williamson (New Zealand), Steve Smith (Australia), AB de Villiers (South Africa), and Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka) have also been nominated for the prestigious award. 

There is also the ICC Men’s ODI Player of the Decade as well. MS Dhoni, Lasith Malinga, Mitchell Starc, AB De Villiers and Kumar Sangakkara features in this list as well along with Virat Kohli. 

Virat Kohli has aso been included in the ICC Men’s T20I Player of the Decade category as well. The list also features names like Rashid Khan (Afghanistan), Imran Tahir (South Africa), Aaron Finch (Australia), Malinga and Chris Gayle (West Indies).

Kohli has also been nominated in the Men’s Test Player of the Decade and ICC Spirit of Cricket Award of the Decade categories. The Indian skipper has been the most consistent batsman in the past decade. He has scored over 10000 ODI runs and nearly 7000 Test runs in the past decade. He is also inching closer to 3000 T20I runs. The final winners will be decided on the basis of the number of votes a player receives.
