Virat Kohli reaches new high in ICC ODI Rankings

Virat Kohli becomes the highest rating batsmen for India in One-day internationals with 909 rating points. In recently concluded 6 match ODI series against South Africa, he scored 558 runs and was named as man of the match. Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and MS Dhoni are the other Indians with highest rating points in ODI’s.

Kohli broke the record of Sachin Tendulkar most rating points in ODI cricket. Sachin Tendulkar best rankings were against Zimbabwe during 1998 season in which he had 887 points.

Indian captain attained 900 points in both ODI’s and test matches. Before this series, Kohli was in the top rankings and increased his top position in ODI rankings with 3 centuries in ODI series against South Africa. Men in Blue won their first ODI series on South African shores by 5-1.

Kohli moved past Brian Lara record of all time rankings in test matches last month. The Indian full-time captain is 7th on the all-time list which is headed by Viv Richards of 935 points.  Kohli is way ahead of AB de Villiers in latest ODI batsmen rankings.

Shikhar Dhawan also enters into the top 10 rankings with good performances in 6 match ODI series against South Africa.

In the bowling department, Afghanistan young teen sensation and Indian young bowler Jasprit Bumrah occupy the top positions. With decimals points ahead, India’s Bumrah occupies the top position with good performances in ODI series against South Africa.
