Former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer has responded to Kevin Pietersen’s tweet on India’s win in the second Test in Chennai. India beat England by 317 runs in the second Test in Chennai as the spinners shared all the 10 English wickets in the second innings. This also brought to an end England’s six-match winning streak in Asian conditions. The hosts thus are back in level-terms in the four-match series at 1-1. Ravichandran Ashwin was awarded the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.

Kevin Pietersen tweeted saying “Badhai ho India, England B ko harane k liye” after India beat England in the second Test. With England without the likes of James Anderon and Jofra Archer, he said that it was almost beating an England B side without its prominent players playing.

Wasim Jaffer Trolls Kevin Pietersen

Wasim Jaffer has meanwhile responded to Pietersen’s tweet and in the process, took the mickey out of him. “Don’t troll KP guys. He’s just trying to be funny. And I get it. I mean is it even a full-strength England team if there are no players from SA?” Jaffer replied to the former English skipper.

Kevin Pietersen put out a tweet after England beat India in the first Test saying that England would be tough to beat in Indian conditions. “India , yaad hai maine pehele hi chetawani di thi ke itna jasn na manaye jab aapne Australia ko unke ghar pe haraya tha” tweeted Pieterse after England’s win in the first Test.

Meanwhile, the loss has ended England’s six-game winning streak in Asian conditions. The visitors have slipped to the fourth position after the loss while New Zealand regain the top spot in the WTC points table. India are on 460 points with a percentage of 69.7 while England are on 442 points with a percentage of 67.

A few records were achieved in this Test match as well. Axar Patel joined an elite list of cricketers to have picked up a fifer on debut and Ashwin scored a century and took a fifer in the same match thrice. Overall, Ashwin’s match figures read 119 runs and eight wickets.

India and England will now lock horns in the third Test which is a Pink-Ball game in Ahmedabad from February 24. Both teams have a week to prepare themselves for the penultimate test.
