In Kashmir’s Tekipora Kupwara, the organisers of a cricket league decided to gift the player something really unique, something we would’ve never even imagined. A player was given 2.5 kg Fish as man of the match award.

Surprised right? it didn’t surprise just as but also ended up talking the social media up by the storm for rewarding a player with something like fish. A journalist by the name of Firdous Hassan tweeted this news which left the Twitterati into splits,

“Recently, in a cricket match at Tekipora Kupwara, a 2.5 Kg fish was given as Man of the Match award.” 

However, Firdous further went on to tweet that such award was given to popularise the league. The organisers did it to highlight the pathetic condition of the ground as the people themselves had to contribute from their own pockets to play on a playable turf.
