Speaking on his YouTube channel Akmal praised the current form of Mohmmad Rizwan. He said, “Rizwan has been performing well as an opener. He is taking advantage of his good form. Rizwan can play the role of aggressor in the powerplay and also has the ability to rotate the strike in middle overs.”

Kamran Akmal drops Sarfaraz Khan From T20 World Cup squad
Former Wicket-keeper batsman was worried about Pakistan’s poor middle order. For number 5 and 6 spots, Akmal had selected Shoaib Malik and Fakhar Zaman, and Azam Khan and Haider Ali, but he went on to pick experienced Malik and young Azam Khan.
“Pakistan’s middle order is in the poor form and Shoaib Malik needs to be in there. Azam should be given a longer run. Others have been given many chances and he should get those too.”
Kamran Akmal acclaimed Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf for their all-round ability and mentioned that they should be in the squad keeping in mind conditions in UAE. Hasan Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Asif Ali, Wahab Riaz, and Mohammad Waim Jnr are the pacers, Akmal had opted for.
“Bowlers like Hasan Ali, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf can provide early breakthroughs,” Akmal added.
