Virat Kohli has led Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2013 in the IPL. Still, Kohli has been unable to win the IPL trophy as captain of RCB. After RCB’s exit from IPL in the eliminator this year, many have voiced their opinions and want RCB to remove Virat Kohli as captain.
We look ahead at the 3 possible players who could succeed Kohli if the RCB franchise decides to go with a new captain from next IPL season.
3 Players Who Can Replace Virat Kohli As Captain Of RCB In IPL
3. Aaron Finch
The reasoning behind Aaron Finch’s inclusion this year in RCB was to add leadership core within the RCB side. Finch was certainly part of the leadership group of RCB as he has bundles of experience while captaining Australia in white-ball cricket.
Finch can be an alternative to captain RCB as he has a terrific record as captain in international cricket. Plus finch has tasted success as captain in the Big Bash League when he led his side Melbourne Renegades to a tournament win 2018-2019. Finch also scores heavily once he has the weight of captaincy which might change fortunes around of RCB.

2. Ab de Villiers
The legendary Ab de Villiers can be a captaincy contender of RCB if the franchise decides to sack Virat Kohli. De Villiers made South Africa one of the top sides in white-ball cricket he was the captain between 2013-2017. The South African absolutely has leadership qualities which can inspire other young players of his side.
De Villiers has already made it very clear that he intends to finish his IPL career only with RCB. Much like Kohli, his loyalty towards the franchise is unrivalled and he might just be a good selection as captain if Kohli is replaced.

1.Devdutt Padikkal
He may be just 20 years old but Devdutt Padikkal is a sure shot future RCB captain. Much like Kohli, RCB acquired Padikkal at a very young age keeping one eye on the future. Padikkal had a sensational first season for RCB and was named the emerging player of the tournament.
The exciting batsman is a star in the making and potentially the future of RCB. Hypothetically if RCB names Padkikkal as skipper this will be a very bold move but certainly a step in the right direction.
Meanwhile, RCB has always backed Kohli as skipper regardless of the result. However, in the last few years, Kohli’s batting has been hampered with RCB still to win that elusive IPL trophy. Hence the franchise might decide to release Kohli of the captaincy pressure and he can then entirely focus on his batting.
