3 Uncapped Players Who Might Play A Significant Role For PBKS In IPL 2024

PBKS faced another underwhelming IPL campaign in 2023, securing the eighth spot on the league table with only 12 points from 14 matches. Despite the disappointing performance, the team opted for minimal changes, retaining most of their key players for the upcoming season.

Additionally, PBKS made notable acquisitions during the IPL 2024 auction, securing big-name players such as Harshal Patel and Rilee Rossouw.

PBKS looks to improve next season, and here are three new players who could be important in IPL 2024:

#3 Prabhsimran Singh

Prabhsimran Singh joined Punjab Kings in 2019 but found it challenging to secure a spot in the starting lineup until the last season. The wicketkeeper from Patiala showcased his talent with remarkable innings in IPL 2023, notably scoring a thrilling century against Delhi Capitals on a slow-turning pitch at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Prabhsimran participated in 14 matches last season, achieving 358 runs with an average of 25.57 and an impressive strike rate of 150.42. His notable performances led to a spot in India’s squad for the Asian Games 2023. The Kings anticipate the 23-year-old aggressive batsman maintaining his excellent form in the upcoming season.

#2 Atharva Taide

Atharva Taide had a standout season with PBKS in the last IPL. The Vidarbha batsman featured in seven matches during IPL 2023, amassing 186 runs with an average of 26.57 and an impressive strike rate of 144.19. His ability to make impactful strokes and maintain composure in pressure situations garnered attention.

The 23-year-old also had a solid Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023, scoring 302 runs in seven matches. PBKS is expected to position him at number three in the upcoming season, making him a player to keep an eye on during IPL 2024.

#1 Harpreet Brar

Harpreet Brar, an untested player, has the potential to be a significant contributor for PBKS in IPL 2024. Harpreet Brar, a versatile all-rounder, has been associated with the Kings since 2019.

He played regularly in the first team last season, securing nine wickets in 13 matches with an economy of 8.02. Brar, also proficient with the bat, can contribute quick runs in the lower order. The spinner, hailing from Punjab, performed exceptionally well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023, taking 15 wickets in 10 games.
