5 cricketers who never bowled a no ball

Cricket, a game full of uncertainties, can change the fate of game by a single no ball. A single inch of foot ahead the crease can cost the entire match to a team.

However, with new rules implied, A no ball does not only cost the bowler a run but also gives a free ball to the batsman. However, there are some bowlers who never bowled a no ball in their entire career.

Lance Gibbs, the former West Indian spinner made his Test debut in 1958 against Pakistan. Lance Gibbs has also proved to be the most successful spinner for West Indies. In his long test career, Gibbs reached the landmark for taking 309 Test wickets. He was also the first spinner to achieve this record.

Lance Gibbs had an extraordinary economy of just less than 2 runs per over with a bowling average of 29.09. Even after reaching the great heights in his career and having a long and successful mark in International cricket, Lance Gibbs is also known for not bowling a single no ball in his entire career. He is also the only spinner who never bowled a no ball in his career.

Kapil Dev, the stalwart of Indian cricket Team is known to be the greatest all-rounder India has ever produced. Kapil Dev is primarily known for World Cup 1983 triumph,  where he led India to its first ever World Cup title.

Kapil Dev has achieved the record of being the only cricketer to have taken more than 400 Test wickets (434) and more then 5000 test runs (5248) being the greatest all-rounder of all time.

However, despite the known records and trophies, Kapil Dev has set some excellent records which have not been much into the limelight. In his 131 Test matches and 225 One Day Internationals, Kapil Dev holds the record of not bowling a single no ball in his career.

Ian Botham, former England all- rounder has attracted fans from all over the world with his own style. Ian Botham has scored 5200 Test runs and 2113 ODI runs.

Ian Botham also holds the World record of taking the highest number of test wickets between 21 August 1986 and 12 November 1988. With 383 Test and 145 ODI wickets, Ian is known to be the greatest all-rounders of the game. In his 102 Test matches, 116 ODI matches and 402 First Class matches, Ian Botham has never bowled a single no-ball delivery.

The greatest luminary and the pride of Pakistan, Imran Khan is another cricketing legend who never crossed the line in his bowling.

Imran Khan led Pakistan to its first ever World Cup title in 1992 and emerged himself as a great leader. With 362 Test wickets and 182 ODI wickets, Imran Khan was truly unstoppable. Imran Khan has never bowled a no ball in his 88 Test matches and 175 ODI matches.

The Australian Fast Bowler is known for his “never-say-die” attitude on the field and his immense popularity among his fans. Dennis Lillee is also the greatest fast bowler of all time and was rated as “Outstanding fast bowler of his generation”.

Dennis Lillee was quite dominant on the field with his 355 Test matches and 103 ODI matches. Having a great International career, Dennis Lillee never crossed the line and was another talented bowler who never bowled a no ball.
