1.Nueva by Virat Kohli, Delhi

Virat, the current flamboyant captain of the Indian team, owns a restaurant named NUEVA in New Delhi. He had shared the insights of this restaurant on his Instagram too when he hosted a dinner for his RCB teammates.

The restaurant specializes in offering South American cuisine apart from delicacies from other Asian countries namely Spain, Italy, Portugal, France and Japan. The restaurant is open to the public as well and he calls this place as his favourite chilling and hang-out spot.

His fans definitely find this as an opportunity to get a glance of their idol. Nueva is located in RK Puram, New Delhi.

2. Tendulkar’s by Sachin Tendulkar

Tendulkar’s by Sachin Tendulkar

Joining hands with renowned hotelier Sanjay Narang of Mars group, Sachin, The master blaster, opened a restaurant named Tendulkar’s in 2002 in Mumbai. He also opened his second restaurant named Sachin’s in Mumbai and Bangalore. The restaurant offered all the worldwide favourite dishes of Sachin.

“Why don’t we do a piping along the edge of the apron and make it about a quarter-inch thick?’ I hadn’t thought of this, but it looked really great. This gives you an idea of how he (Tendulkar) thinks of everything in detail,” Forbes quoted Narang as saying. 

Unfortunately, this project was not successful and the restaurants are closed permanently as of now. It is believed that Sachin might come back to this business any time soon but there is no update so far on this.

3. Elevens by Kapil Dev

Kapil Dev is one of the iconic bowlers for team India. He owned a hotel named The Kaptain’s retreat hotel in Chandigarh. It has a big restaurant named as Elevens. He wanted this hotel to be his financial source. Kapil dev’s hotel offers services for restaurant, banquets, and rooms.

Elevens menu consists of his favourite dishes and also some Thai ‘must-haves’ apart from Indian and Chinese cuisines. The interesting part of Kapil Dev’s hotel was that the rooms were not numbered. They were named after famous landmarks in Kapil’s career like Port Elizabeth, tied Test, 4 sixes, 9 wickets, 434 and Kapil’s retreat.

4. Jaddu’s Food Field by Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja, the exuberant all-rounder for team India, inaugurated the restaurant Jaddu’s Food Field on 12 December 2012 in Rajkot. He was away with Team India for Test matches on that day but still inaugurated it on the same day (12-12-12) as he considers 12 as his lucky number.

The restaurant offers Mexican, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Continental, Punjabi cuisines etc. This hotel is renowned for its ambience.

5. Zaheer Khan’s Dine Fine by Zaheer Khan

The former India fast bowler Zaheer Khan is renowned to be one of the best Indian pacers in test cricket. The Mumbai-born cricketer’s restaurant has tasted success and it promises to provide the best quality service to its customers. It commenced in 2004-2005 in Pune and offers services for restaurant, sports lounge, banquets, and outdoor catering.

Zaheer got this idea of entering the hospitality business when he was resting due to injury. He always mentioned that cricket was his first priority and besides if he felt that he has also got a right team to enter the hospitality business.

“Injuries forced me to think about things and I got into it. Obviously, cricket has always been a priority and it will be a priority going forward as well. But this is something where I have formed a right team and things just started to unfold and I was able to learn things quicker,” Zaheer had said to CNBC-TV18.
