The Indian Cricket team are currently on the tour of England with T20I and ODI series finished. India won the T20I series 2-1 while the number 1 ranked ODI team won the ODI series 2-1. In the current ODI squad, most of them played on previous England tours and are on the last tour of England.

In the current test squad too, few of them are on the last tour and would love to make contributions for Team India. On England soil, the Indian Cricket team won the 2002 Natwest Tri-series beating hosts England, winning the 2002 test series against England, winning test series in 2007 and winning the ODI series 3-1 in 2014.

Here’s The List Of Test Matches That Team India Should Have Won

England is the toughest place to play with pitches helping the pace bowlers. With the 5 match test series about to start.

Here look at the 5 Indian cricketers who are on their last tour of England: 

1. MS Dhoni

Mahendra Singh Dhoni toured England for the first time in 2007. India won the test series while lost the ODI series. In the year 2011 as a captain, MS Dhoni visit was not a great one as he was whitewashed in test series, ODI and T20I series.

Under his captaincy, the Indian Cricket team won the ODI series beating England 3-1 on the 2014 tour. He retired from test cricket in 2014. Overall he played 3 test series in England and was on victory side only 1.

MS Dhoni played slowly in the two ODI matches he played against the number 1 ranked ODI team, he would decide to retire from all formats of cricket after the World Cup 2019.

2. Suresh Raina

Another experienced player in 50 over the squad, Suresh Raina had a disappointing ODI series against England. He replaced Ambati Rayadu and did not justice with his batting. He played a total of 16 One day internationals in England and scored 1 century on England soil.

When the Indian Cricket team travels to England next time, Suresh Raina’s poor form could see him out of World Cup 2019 squad. Suresh Raina has played 18 test matches and scored 768 runs with the best score of 120.

He has played so far 226 ODI matches and scored a total of 5615 runs with the best score of 116, only with 5 half centuries. With his fitness and form, this would be his last tour of England.

3. Murali Vijay

Murali Vijay has been a pillar for the Indian Cricket team in overseas test matches for a while. With his solid defensive technique and making the new ball old makes him a reliable opener.

On the previous tour of England in 2014, Murali Vijay was the star for India with solid defensive technique on tough conditions. His performances in the first two test matches were outstanding. In the 2nd innings at Lords, Vijay scored fighting 95 which helped India to set up a tough target for England. India won a historic test match at Lords.

With 5 test matches coming up against England from 1st August, this provides a chance for Vijay to prove that he is one of the solid batsmen for team India in test matches and give the team a good start to the team on his last tour of England.

With KL Rahul on the sideline and in good touch, Murali Vijay needs to perform well at the top of the order.

4. Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh Karthik has been playing for the Indian Cricket team for quite some time. He made his test debut on 3rd December 2004 against Australia. Since then he has played only 24 test matches because of MS Dhoni presence as a wicketkeeper.

He made his ODI debut for India on 5th September 2004 against England and played only 79 ODI matches.  With MS Dhoni grabbing the spots as a wicketkeeper for team India, Dinesh Karthik has not been a regular member of the squad.

Dinesh Karthik played only 20 T20Is for team India. With Wriddhiman Saha injured, Dinesh Karthik has been included as a wicketkeeper. He would eager to prove his worth in test series. With Pant and Sanju Samson waiting, this England tour could be his last. His form in the T20 format during 2018 has been outstanding.

In the recently concluded ODI series against England, Dinesh Karthik played only 1 match and scored 21. With the World Cup 2019 coming up, he could be a back wicketkeeper to MS Dhoni.

5. Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja is one of the most proven spinners in the current Indian team. He has been included for the first 3 test matches against England. In the last tour of England, Ravindra Jadeja played an important part in the historic test win at Lords.

Jadeja has been a part of the One-day international squad since the 2017 Champions Trophy held in England. The left-handed spinner and batsmen, has played 136 ODI’s and taken 155 wickets. If India decides to go with 2 spinners, it might not be him. Ravindra Jadeja has been 34 test matches and taken 162 wickets. He is also a decent lower order batsman.

Ravindra Jadeja was a part of the squad of Indian test squad which played in South Africa this year but not included in playing XI. If Jadeja is included in playing XI during the test series against England, he would be eager showcase his talent with bat and ball.
