5 Players to watch out for in the Mumbai T20 league

After enormous success in the first edition of the Mumbai T20 league, the tournament is back with another edition. It is one of the biggest platforms in Mumbai for budding cricketers to display their talent. This time in the midst, a new team has been added namely Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs. With another team added, we are assured of more exciting cricket.

So here we have prepared our list of 5 players to watch out for in the Mumbai T20 league

5. Arjun Tendulkar (Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs)

Arjun Tendulkar the dashing left-arm fast bowler has made the cut into the Aakash Tigers MWS side with a whopping ₹5,00,000. The fast bowler has a capability of yorking the ball at a significant pace which once caused an injury scare to a batsman like Jonny Bairstow.

The seamer after making his U-19 debut for India has seemed to be a promising a young talent. In the lower order, he can prove to be a handy batsman. Arjun Tendulkar has already struck the limelight and this tournament he would be just the kind of platform he needs to deliver on.

4. Tushar Deshpande (ARCS Andheri)

Tushar Deshpande has made a name for himself by giving standout performances in the domestic circuit. Taking 19 wickets in his last 10 T20 innings, the right arm pacer swings the ball both ways at speeds over 135kmph.

A fact about him is he rejected an IPL team’s trials and went ahead with a match in club cricket. He said, “I believe that if I”m giving my 100% in the matches that I”m playing in, why should I give trials?” With the kind of rhythm this man is in, he could well light up the tournament.

Shivam Dube nearly won Lions, the title last year. Dube has had a terrific 12 months in his career. He was the joint highest wicket-taker, last year but lost out on economy rate. He had an amazing run in the domestic circuit. Not only does he take wickets but also he hits the ball a long distance.

His outstanding all-round talent bagged him an IPL contract with the Royal Challengers Bangalore. This year, Dube comes in with a lot more experience. Having an explosive power hitter like him in the side can surely be dangerous for the opposition.

2.  Jay Bista (SoBo Supersonics)

An interesting fact about Jay Bista is, he is the first player of Nepalese origin to play for Mumbai. Last year Jay Bista was the second highest run-scorer for his side. He scored 2 fifty plus scores in 7 innings last year at a healthy strike rate of a shade under 144.

If required, Bista can chip in with a couple of overs too with his handy off-spin. In the domestic T20 competition this year, Bista could only manage 3 games, where he scored 112 in 3 innings. He has this amazing capability of absorbing the pressure and then taking the game deep to finish it. With the tremendous amount of talent this man possesses, he will surely be a threat to any opposition on his day.

1. Shreyas Iyer (NaMo Bandra Blasters)

With the current IPL form, Shreyas Iyer is one of the best in business.  He has been a terrific leader who leads by example. He has captained the Delhi Capitals this year and took them to the playoffs. He captained the India-A side. Alongside his leadership, he has also scored a lot of runs.

Last season Shreyas Iyer was the tournament’s highest run-getter, scoring 363 runs in 6 matches with 5 fifty plus scores. This year apart from the IPL where he has had a stupendous run of form, Iyer has also scored the highest individual score by an Indian in a T20 game.
