Here are 5 Unbreakable Records In IPL History

5. Highest Individual score in IPL history

Chris Gayle

In 2013, Chris Gayle in a match against newbies Pune Warriors India decided to throw a grand party at the Chinnaswamy in Bengaluru. The crowd at the stadium had no clue that a ‘Gayle storm’ is about to hit the IPL.

The universe boss that day showed why he is the demigod of T20 cricket as he recorded the highest individual score in the shortest format of the game. Gayle scored a ridiculous 175* alone in a 20 over inning which one could have ever imagined. Gayle on that day wasn’t only clearing the boundary ropes he was making a mockery off it as he several sixes outside the stadium.

Gayle made 175 not out off just 66 deliveries and put on a once in a lifetime show in the IPL. He hit 13 boundaries and 17 monstrous sixes against a helpless PWI bowling attack. This record is truly unbreakable which certainly will never be surpassed in years to come in the IPL.

4. MS Dhoni Most IPL finals As Captain

If you apply genius to cricketers you’d surely apply it for MS Dhoni. Since the first edition of the IPL under the leadership of Dhoni CSK has always remained the side to beat in IPL. The ‘Midas touch’ of Dhoni has been constant in the IPL as he has led his side to 8 IPL finals.

In the 12 IPL finals so far, Chennai Super Kings has played in 7 off them and they all have been under the inspiring leadership of Dhoni. The ability of Dhoni to stay one step ahead of all the times and rightly earned him the tag of the best IPL captain of all time. Meanwhile, the scariest thought is that he is still going to play in the IPL and we might see him lead the CSK in a few more IPL finals.

CSK wasn’t part of the IPL in 2016 and 2017 but has still dominated the league by reaching the finals on remarkable 8 occasions which is the most in IPL history. Under Dhoni, CSK has so far won 3 out of the 8 finals and has the two-second IPL trophies behind Mumbai Indians.

3. Most Hattricks by Amit Mishra

Amit Mishra

To stand out as a bowler in IPL is no easy task as several great batsmen feature in the league. However, Amit Mishra has always remained a potent weapon for his franchise in his IPL career. The leg-spinner from Delhi holds the record for most hattricks in IPL history with 3.

Amit Mishra took it for the Deccan Chargers in 2011, Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013, and Delhi Daredevils in 2008. Three hattricks in IPL is a phenomenal achievement considering a bowler only bowls 4 overs in an innings and has fewer chances to picks 3 wickets in one over.

No other bowler has managed to take more than 2 IPL hattricks as Mishra stands alone with 3. Also, the seasoned leggie has a total of 157 wickets in 147 games in his IPL career so far. Mishra will be looking to add more hattricks in his tally when he represents the Delhi Capitals in IPL history.

2. Chris Gayle scoring 37 Runs in one over

Records have always broken left right and centre when Chris Gayle has batted in the India Premier League. One historic record that Gayle holds in IPL is the unusual 37 runs he scored in IPL 2011 against Kochi Tuskers. The unfortunate bowler was young left-arm pacer Prasanth Parameswaran of Kochi Tuskers Kerala for 37 runs.

Usually, a batsman can only score a maximum of 36 runs in an over. However, a no-ball from Parameswaran allowed Gayle to face an extra ball which he made full use of. In that single over Gayle hit 4 sixes and 3 fours and forever etches his name in the history books by scoring 37 runs in a single over.

1. Highest Team Total RCB

264 team total of RCB is at the top of 5 most unbreakable IPL records.

RCB has often been criticised for underperforming in the IPL with the kind of quality players in their squad. But on their day time and time again they have shown why they are such a dangerous side. Over the years the likes of Virat Kohli, Ab de Villiers and Chris Gayle have always left the world stunned whenever they have batted in the IPL for RCB.

One instance when they completely clicked was against Pune Warriors India courtesy of Chris Gayle. We have already mentioned his record-shattering 175* but that knock of his took RCB’s team total to an outrageous 264 which still stands as a record which has not been breached. Also, it one of the records which look unbreakable in the history of IPL.
