8 Indian Players who are likely to go unsold In IPL 2019 Auction

On 15th November 2018, 8 franchises announced released and retention list for IPL 2019. According to the latest reports, the venue for 2019 is likely to be Jaipur on 18th December.

Here is the list of Retained and released players for IPL 2019

The released list includes some big names which have dominated T20 and franchises may not select them on the basis of their performances in IPL 2018. These top Indian players have done so much for Indian Cricket and also played well during Indian Premier League editions.

Yuvraj Singh was bought by Kings XI Punjab for Rs 2 Crore in IPL 2018 edition. The stylish left-handed batsman could not perform according to expectations scoring just 65 runs from 8 matches with the highest score of 20, the strike rate of 89.04.

He was not selected in playing XI for few matches during IPL 2018 edition. His best performance in IPL came in 2014 edition for Royal Challengers Bangalore with a strike rate of 135.25.

With his form issues, the chances of selecting Yuvraj Singh in IPL 2019 would be bleak and with chances of him not playing in World Cup 2019, his career in IPL is almost over.

The experienced Gambhir was bought by Delhi Daredevils for Rs 2.80 Crore in IPL 2018. He was made the captain of Delhi Daredevils side. Under the captaincy of Gambhir, Kolkata Knight Riders won two IPL titles in 2012 and 2014.

In the first half of IPL 2018, Delhi Daredevils lost 5 out of the first 6 matches. He then decided to step down from captaincy and gave it to Sheryas Iyer. Gambhir dropped himselves from playing XI. With the bat, Gambhir scored 85 runs from 6 matches with the best score of 55.

Before the 2019 IPL auction, Delhi Daredevils decided to release Gambhir from the squad due to his poor form. With poor form and other issues, the franchises may not select the veteran in IPL 2019 auction.

The most experienced bowler in domestic cricket for Karnataka, Vinay Kumar was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 1 Crore. He played just 2 matches in IPL 2018 edition for KKR side and took only 2 wickets with an economy of 11.50 runs per over.

Vinay Kumar best performance in IPL edition was 23 wickets from 16 matches during 2013 edition for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Vinay Kumar has played for India in 1 test match, 31 One day internationals and 9 T20Is matches.

His experience in domestic cricket has been great playing 124 matches for Karnataka and taken 447 wickets.

Before the IPL 2019 auction, Vinay Kumar was released by Kolkata Knight Riders franchise. With the poor form, the franchises may not select him in IPL 2019 auction.

The young explosive Sarfaraz Khan was retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore side in IPL 2018. He could not perform according to reputation in IPL 2018 scoring just 51 runs from 7 matches with a strike rate of 124.39.

In the three seasons he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Khan best performance came during the 2015 edition scoring 111 runs with the best score of 45* at a strike rate of 156.33. During 2016 edition, Khan Strike rate was 212.90. Before the IPL 2019 auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore decided to release him from the squad.

The franchises based on his batting skills could find him not selected in the IPL 2019 auction. Khan is an explosive batsman but not performed according to expectation last year.

Mohammed Shami was bought by Delhi Daredevils using Right to Match card for RS 3 Crore. Because of his personal problems, the experienced fast bowler could not play many matches. In the 2018 edition of IPL, Shami played only 4 matches and took only 3 wickets with an economy of 10.40 runs per over.

Before the 2019 auction, Delhi Daredevils decided to release Gambhir and other top players in the squad which led to such poor performances in IPL 2018 edition finishing last. With Shami facing personal problems and poor performances, franchises may not select him during IPL 2019 auction.

Manoj Tiwary was bought by Kings XI Punjab for Rs 1 Crore in IPL 2018. He has the experience of playing in domestic cricket for Bengal.

He played 5 matches for Kings XI Punjab and scored just 47 runs with the best score of 35 at a strike rate of 106.81. Tiwary played 12 ODI matches and 3 T20I matches for team India. He has the experience of playing 109 first-class matches for Bengal scoring 7994 runs with the best score of 267.

9 West Indians who rocked the IPL with their style and substance

Tiwary has the experience of playing 160 T20 matches for Bengal with 3055 runs, best score of 75*. Before IPL 2019 auction, Kings XI Punjab decided to release Manoj Tiwary along with Yuvraj Singh and other top quality players.

The franchise may not be interested in selecting him during the IPL 2019 auction. Before this, Tiwary played for Kolkata Knight Riders.

Wriddhiman Saha was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 5 Crore. He played 11 matches for SRH and scored just 122 runs with the best score of 35 at a strike rate of 119.60. While keeping, Saha took 5 catches and did 1 stumping. He provided decent starts while opening the innings.

Saha best performance came during the 2014 edition for Kings XI Punjab scoring 362 runs from 17 matches with the best score of 115 not out.

Before the 2019 auction, Saha was one many players to be released from Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise. With Sreevats Goswami in retention list for SRH and also Saha recovering from injury, there are chances that franchises may not select him in IPL 2019 auction.

Saurabh Tiwary was bought by Mumbai Indians for RS 80 Lakhs in IPL 2018. He did not play a single match during the 2018 edition.

Tiwary best performance in IPL history came during the 2010 edition playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise scoring 419 runs from 16 matches with 3 half-centuries to his name. Before the IPL 2019 auction, Mumbai Indians franchise decided to release along with few top players including JP Duminy, Pat Cummins.

Here’s The List Of Most Loved Overseas Cricketers In IPL

The dashing left-handed batsman played 3 ODI matches for team India and scored only 49 runs with the best score of 37*. He has the experience of playing 136 T20 matches for Jharkhand scoring 2582 runs.

He currently plays for Jharkhand in 2018/19 Ranji Trophy match against Rajasthan from 20th November. It is likely, that stylish left-handed batsman may not find any takers from any franchise in IPL 2019 auction.
