’83 Movie To Release On Christmas 2021, Confirms Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh’s film 83, based on India’s 1983 World Cup victory and its hero, Kapil Dev, is finally set to hit the theatres this Christmas. Bollywood star Ranveer Singh announced the news today on his Twitter handle. The announcement delighted all the fans, who erupted in joy. Actress Huma Qureshi was also very happy with the news, as she commented, “Yaaaayyyyy finally”.

The film was originally scheduled to be released on June 4, 2021, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the release date was pushed back. With the vaccination drive being at its peak in the country now, movie theatres are reopening.

All theatres in Maharashtra, the Bollywood industry’s heartland, will reopen on October 22, a few weeks before Diwali. Thus after this announcement, the director and other members have decided to release the movie on Christmas.

In India, cricket is a religion, and cricketers are treated as superstars. As a result, the filmmakers have opted to distribute the film in five different Indian languages in order to prevent any form of linguistic barrier for the viewers. The film will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Kabir Singh is the director of the movie and Vishnuvardhan Induri, Deepika Padukone, Sajid Nadiadwala are the co-producers. The film was shot over a three-month period in England.

Talking about other actors in the movie, Deepika Padukone will be playing the role of Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Bhatia. The rest of the cast is also very impressive, with renowned actor Pankaj Tripathi playing PR Man Singh, the team’s manager at the 1983 World Cup. Other actors in the film include Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Boman Irani, Nishant Dahiya, Sahil Khattar, and Amrita Puri.
