India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna delivered a superb ball to knock over Sediqullah Atal’s off stump on Day 2 of the one-off Test against Afghanistan on Sunday, June 7. The match is being played at the Maharaja Singh PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh, Punjab. The dismissal came on the fourth delivery of the ninth over in Afghanistan’s first innings.

Bowling from around the wicket, Prasidh pitched it on a good length and got the ball to sharply move back in. The left-handed batter tried to defend but only managed a slight inside edge, which sent the ball crashing onto the stumps. You can watch the video here:

Sediqullah made 17 runs from 27 balls, including three fours during his innings. His wicket left Afghanistan at 40/2 after 8.4 overs.

Prasidh Krishna and Manav Suthar Pick Up Early Wickets as Afghanistan Stumble Early

Abdul Malik and Sediqullah Atal opened the batting for Afghanistan in their first innings. The duo added 28 runs from 34 deliveries before India debutant Manav Suthar struck in his very first over, removing Malik for 16 off 18 balls, including three boundaries. Sediqullah also failed to convert his promising start, getting bowled by Prasidh Krishna for 17.

At the time of writing, Afghanistan were 56/2 after 18 overs, still trailing by 508 runs, with Rahmanullah Gurbaz (11) and Rahmat Shah (11) unbeaten at the crease. Earlier in the match, after choosing to bat first, India declared their first innings at a dominant 564/8 in 127 overs.

Captain Shubman Gill led from the front with 126 off 177 deliveries, while vice-captain KL Rahul scored 100 off 165 balls. Sai Sudharsan (81 off 104), Rishabh Pant (81 off 121), and Washington Sundar (52* off 68) also played key knocks for the hosts. For Afghanistan, Mohammad Saleem Safi emerged as the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of 6/140 in 27 overs.
