“A Thankful Heart Attracts Miracles” – R. Ashwin Shares Wisdom After Announcing Retirement

Ravichandran Ashwin, former spin maestro and all-rounder for Team India, shared his thoughts on retirement through a post on his official social media account. The 38-year-old announced his decision during the post-match press conference on Wednesday, December 18.

Ashwin revealed his retirement after the third Test at Gabba between India and Australia ended in a draw due to heavy rain. The Tamil Nadu all-rounder mentioned that although he was retiring from international cricket, he would continue to play the sport at the club or domestic level.

Along with a picture from the cricket-themed Tamil movie ‘Lubber Pandhu’, Ashwin shared a story on his official account, accompanied by a quoted text:

“A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles”

Ravichandran Ashwin will play for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025

Chennai Super Kings made a strong push to sign Ravichandran Ashwin for the upcoming IPL season. When his name was announced at the auction, CSK quickly began bidding, with Lucknow Super Giants joining the competition.

After an intense bidding war, Lucknow withdrew, and Royal Challengers Bangalore also made a strong bid but backed out. Rajasthan Royals then went head-to-head with CSK, but in the end, Chennai Super Kings secured Ashwin for ₹9.75 crores, bringing him back into the fold alongside MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja after 10 years.

Ashwin, who has previously played for Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, and the now-defunct Rising Pune Super Giants, will now wear the Yellow jersey.

“I am going to play for CSK and don’t be surprised if I try and aspire to play for as long as I can. I don’t think Ashwin the cricketer is done, I think Ashwin the Indian cricketer has probably called it time. That’s it,” said the Indian great.
