Former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid has backed the Indian team to win a Test series in England with the current team. He predicted a 3-2 score of Team India beating hosts England in a five-match Test series. Now, former Indian batsman, Aakash Chopra has backed Dravid’s prediction of India beating the hosts in their own backyard. The last time India won a Test series in England was under Dravid’s captaincy. They won the second Test at Trent Bridge to win the three-match series 1-0.

Now Aakash Chopra has backed Rahul Dravid’s call to see this Indian team winning a Test series in England. The former Indian opener also feels that Kohli & Co. have a good chance of winning the Test series in England.

“I definitely agree, who will not agree with Rahul bhai. There is weight in what he has said, whenever India goes out these days, it is their best chance. To be fair, the chances had become less in Australia because of so many injuries but we won there as well,” Chopra said in a video shared on his YouTube channel.

Both India and New Zealand played some fantastic cricket to get to the final. New Zealand beat teams like India, West Indies and Pakistan to reach the finals. They became the first team to reach the final after Australia postponed their tour to South Africa over COVID-19 concerns.

Before India’s five-match Test series which starts from August 4, India will play the WTC final against New Zealand in Southampton between June 18-22. India beat teams like Australia, England, South Africa and Bangladesh to make it to the WTC final.

Meanwhile, New Zealand will be playing a two-match Test series against England before the WTC final. The Kiwis play two Test matches against England from at Lord’s and Edgbaston from June 2 and June 10 respectively. On the other hand, India will head into the final straightway after reaching the UK.

Former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar said that Kiwis might lose the moral if they get beaten in the series which he said is the ‘flip side’ of the two Tests.
