Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan has taken a dig at Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his tweet regarding the final of the 2022 T20 World Cup. Pakistan stormed into the final after defeating New Zealand convincingly by seven wickets. They will take on England in the final on Sunday, November 13 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

England defeated India by 10 wickets chasing 170 runs at the Adelaide Oval in the second semi-final of the tournament. Following England’s win, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took to social media to share a tweet regarding the finals of the tournament. He wrote,So, this Sunday, it’s: 152/0 vs 170/0 #T20WorldCup”

Pakistan Prime Minister’s 152/0 was in reference to the 2021 T20 World Cup Super 12 match between India and Pakistan. In that game, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan’s unbeaten partnership helped Pakistan to win the match comfortably by 10 wickets. It was also Pakistan’s first win against India at an ICC event. This tweet was subjected to criticism from Indian fans, who slammed the Pakistan Prime Minister.

Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan did not shy away from reacting to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Tweet. He expressed that the difference between Pakistan and India is that the Indians are happy with their performance, while Pakistan is happy with India’s loss. Taking to Twitter, Irfan Pathan wrote,

“Aap mein or hum mein fark yehi hai. Hum apni khushi se khush or aap dusre ke taklif se. Is liye khud ke mulk ko behtar karne pe dhyan nahi hai.”

On Sunday, the Jos Buttler-led team will be all set to take on Pakistan in the final of the 2022 T20 World Cup at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. Pakistan won the T20 World Cup in 2009, while England won the following edition of the 2010 T20 World Cup.
