The Australian will surely add value to the RCB squad not only in terms of batting but also leadership skills. The new RCB coach Mike Hesson has already hinted that the duo of Virat Kohli and Finch will be the openers for their side for the upcoming IPL season.
Aaron Finch focused on giving RCB flying starts
Recently Finch spoke about representing the RCB this year and about his role in the side. Finch stated that if he gets a chance to play he will be focused on giving RCB ‘flying starts’ during the powerplay. He believes that it is an added advantage for any side if they get off to a good start as it also opens the door of IPL playoffs.
Finch said, “Hopefully, I get a game in that batting line-up. I think if I am in the starting line-up, my role will be to try and take advantage during the powerplays and hopefully get us off to a flying starts”.
“I think getting off to a good start gives us the best chance to make the playoffs, so that will be the main focus”, Aaron Finch told Sportstar.
Meanwhile, the RCB franchise is still yet to win that elusive IPL trophy. With new management and luxury of few more experienced international players this year they will be hoping to get the monkey off their back and lift their first IPL title.
The RCB squad are all set to begin their outdoor training in Dubai for IPL 2020 which will be led by their skipper Virat Kohli. Besides Finch will join the RCB squad after the completion of Australia’s white-ball tour against England.
