On his day, he’s an unstoppable force and coupled with David Warner, forms a deadly combination at the top of the order for Australia. Finch currently holds the record for two out of three highest individual scores in T20I’s (172 against Zimbabwe and 156 against England).
Since making his debut against England in 2011, the dangerous Finch has aggregated 7856 runs in all formats. Although his Test career never took off, he is a vital cog in the Aussie LOI juggernaut. He was part of the 2015 World cup winning squad for Australia.
Due to pandemic times, cricket has taken the backseat at the moment. This has allowed players to stay home and spend time with family. In order to please the fans however, athletes have been active on social media.
Saeed Ajmal was the toughest bowler to face: Aaron Finch
In one such interaction with the fans, Aaron Finch was asked a plethora of questions. One Instagram user asked him about the toughest bowler he had ever faced. His response was this.
This does not come as a surprise to most of the fans. Saeed Ajmal at his peak for Pakistan, was a force to be reckoned with. Notwithstanding the fact that his career was short lived, Ajmal snared 184 wickets at an astounding average of 22.73 in One-Day Internationals.
He was well known for his miserly figures. Boasting an economy of 4.18, the mystery spinner spun webs around most opposition batsmen. Following a successful career, Ajmal announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on 13 November, 2017.
Aaron Finch will next be seen playing for Australia against the West Indies. The tour consists of 5 T20’s and 3 ODI’s. Each one of the T20’s will be played at Daren Sammy Cricket Ground Gros Islet, St Lucia, while the ODI’s are scheduled to be held at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown.
