Aaron Finch’s Knee Injury Might Be A Concern For Australia

Team Australia will check the fitness of opener Aaron Finch before the ODI series against West Indies. Captain Finch suffered a knee injury in the 5th T20I game against West Indies at St Lucia.

Aaron Finch twisted his knee in the match and was seen struggling while running between the wickets. Also, Finch scored 34 runs in the match and eventually ended on the losing side. Meanwhile, the Spokesperson of Cricket Australia stated that Aaron Finch had a mild knee complaint ahead of the tour.

Australia is already missing many top players on the tour and the Finch’s injury might be a big concern. If Finch is not present in the squad Matthew Wade is most likely to captain Australia. Other than captain Finch, Ben McDermott (quad) and Ashton Agar (hamstring) were unavailable in the last few T20Is due to an injury.

Finch feels Australia’s bowling is good but the batsmen failed to back bowlers

Finch stated that there are many inexperienced campaigners in the squad. Also, he said The players at the top with the most experience have failed to contribute their best.

“Thought the way we defended in the back ten overs in this game, we were staring down the barrel of 220-230, was impressive and our powerplay bowling has been pretty good in the other games. We just haven’t backed it up with the bat. There’s some guys there with not a huge amount of international experience. When you are trying to stamp your authority on a game, it can be tough at times so not too critical of them”, Aaron said at the post-match presentation.

“There’s a bit more experience at the top and we probably didn’t give them the best platform. Winning would have been nice but feel as though we have some more information and plenty of stuff to think about.”
