It was a typical captain’s knock from Ajinkya Rahane as he scored 112 and played a big part in taking the team score to 326 in the first innings. Despite the absence of Virat Kohli, Rahane batted with responsibility, intent and maturity as this ton according to cricket experts was one which transpired his character. ‘It was really special. Getting a century always is. Still feel that my hundred against England at Lord’s is my best,’ Rahane said after the match.

Australia by the end of the third day’s play were reeling at 133 for 6 in the second innings. Steve Smith was once again dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin. Australian skipper Tim Paine was also dismissed cheaply by Jadeja to take the sting out of the Aussie batting line-up.

Game is Not Over Yet: Ajinkya Rahane

However, Ajinkya Rahane said that he is not thinking way to forward and there is still a lot of cricket left in the test match to be played.

“This game is not over yet, we still have to get four more wickets,” India skipper Ajinkya Rahane, whose hundred on the second day set the tone for the side, told broadcasters Sony Network at the end of day’s play.

He concluded by giving due credit to his bowlers who bowled in the right areas to give India key breakthroughs.
