Ajinkya Rahane scored his second Test century at the MCG and his 12th overall to carve out a memorable win for India in the second Test match. This happened after Team India was thoroughly outplayed in the first Test match. Meanwhile, Rahane was part of a special gesture after his second Test ton at the MCG. His name was engraved for the second time in the honours board as per the tradition of the ground.
Back in 2014, Rahane scored his first Test ton at the MCG. He scored 147 runs. Indian captain Virat Kohli – who scored 169 off 272 balls – also got his name on the board for the first time and only time. Rahane scoring yet another Test ton at the MCG meant that his name was written the second time at the honours board.
