All Records Broken During Nepal’s Historic Win Against Mongolia

The Nepal men’s cricket team has etched their name in history as they secured a memorable win against Mongolia on September 27 at the Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field in Hangzhou at the Asian Games. They defeated Mongolia by 273 runs to kick off the Men’s cricket event at this year’s Asian Games.

Batting first, Nepal’s batting attack showcased their prowess smashing 314 runs in 20 overs. The innings witnessed some remarkable performances as Kushal Malla slammed 137 runs, while Rohit Paudel and Dipendra Singh scored fifties each. 26 sixes and 14 boundaries were hit in the innings.

In response, Mongolia got all out for a paltry 41 runs in fourteen overs. Davaasuren Jamyansuren was the only batter who managed a double-digit score. The innings recorded five ducks by Mongnolia batters. Karan KC, Abinash Bohara and Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets each in the innings.

Biggest win margin in T20Is

Nepal’s 273-run win is now the biggest win margin in T20I cricket. The record was earlier held by the Czech Republic, who defeated Turkey by 257 runs in 2019.

Highest team score in T20Is

Nepal’s 314 runs against Mongolia now rank at the top of the list of Highest team scores in T20Is. The record was earlier held by Afghanistan who scored 278 runs against Ireland in 2019.

Fastest century in T20Is

Kushal Malla slammed 137 runs off just 50 deliveries. He got to his century off just 34 balls, breaking the record to score the fastest century in T20Is. David Miller, who previously held the record achieved it by scoring in 35 deliveries against Bangladesh in 2017.

Fastest half-century in T20Is

Dipendra Singh Airee slammed the fastest half-century in T20Is during the match against Mongolia. He got to the landmark in just nine deliveries, surpassing Yuvraj Singh. The Indian batter had scored fifty in 12 deliveries during the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup against England.

Most sixes in a T20I innings

Nepal batters slammed 26 sixes in the innings to power the team to 314 runs. This remarkable feat now stands as the highest number of sixes by any team in T20I history during a single inning. Afghanistan had smashed 22 sixes against Ireland in 2019 when they posted 278 runs.
