India won the match comfortably against Afghanistan at Bengaluru as they wrapped it up in a couple of days. Though the gesture given by the Indian skipper Rahane had an upper hand, there were few incidents that took place off the field as well.
Shankar Sajjan, a differently abled youngster was seen bowling to the Afghanistan team in the nets.
Hailing from Bijapur in Karnataka, Shankar”s talent was first spotted by Anil Kumble in 2015. He later made it to the academy where he was trained to bowl several variations on his leg breaks.
Shankar Sajjan”s hands were completely deformed but he made sure not to leave his passion behind his disability. His grief just multiplied as his mom passed away when he was two. Shankar kept looking for opportunities and KSCA hasn”t disappointed him in making dreams come true.
Shankar Sajjan further added that Rashid Khan and Anil Kumble are his inspiration behind his variations. The 18-year-old is confident of improving his bowling further and ready to make an impact in the field of cricket. Shankar also said that the Afghanistan players wished him to keep practising and not to leave the game at any point in time.
Afghanistan a team who rose to prominence by winning a match in their maiden appearance during the 2015 Cricket World Cup, has been winning the hearts of cricket fans and they have already started giving shocks to the full member nations. This gesture from them proves their gratitude towards the youngster.
