Following India’s win in the third T20I, Shivam Dube was awarded the Player of the Series award. The Mumbai all-rounder expressed that it’s a pleasure to win the award. He said at the post-match presentation ceremony,
“Yeah definitely, as an all-rounder, you always dream of winning the Man of the Series award. This is something new I have achieved in my life, so it feels very good.”
It was very tight: Shivam Dube on the dramatic third T20I
The third T20I between India and Afghanistan witnessed several dramatic moments, including two tiebreakers. Afghanistan managed to tie India’s score of 212 runs, taking the game to a super over. Interestingly, the super over also ended in a tie, forcing another super over. Afghanistan failed to chase down 12 runs in the second super over, handing India a win.
Talking about the dramatic match, Shivam Dube said,
“It was very tight, I know. We scored a lot of runs on this ground but they were batting really well. We were thinking we would play the match before the Super Over, we had not thought about the Super Over. In cricket, you cannot really trust anything, but a good game by both teams.”
Shivam Dube also added that he is working on his bowling and has learnt a lot of things in the recently concluded series. He said, “There are many things, working on those things, especially bowling. I have bowled this series, so I have learnt a lot of things. I am getting better in all these matches, so it’s a nice thing.”
